Custom lanyard prices in Australia: what you pay for

Lanyard pricing splits into two clocks. In-stock titled lanyards are a ready product from 10 units. Custom printed tape starts at 50 and is priced like any other wholesale print job. The live unit price sits on the product page. This guide explains the levers before you configure a run.

Start with in-stock or custom, not a dollar figure

In-stock Staff, Visitor, Contractor, VIP and Security lanyards already have type on the tape. Minimum 10. Eligible orders dispatch the same day before 3pm AEST. You are paying for a ready title, not artwork.

Custom full-colour, screen-printed and recycled polyester lanyards start at 50. You pay for print, a complimentary proof and the 7-10 day production window. Open the pricing tab, set 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1,000 and compare. That matrix is the current wholesale rate.

What actually moves the unit price

Quantity is first. A 50-piece custom run covers setup. At 250 or 500 the each-price falls, which is why conference and workplace reprints usually land there.

Process is second. Dye sublimation wraps full colour around the tape. Screen print suits simpler one or two-colour logos. Recycled polyester uses the same custom workflow on tape made from drink bottles, so it is a material choice more than a different price class.

  • In-stock titles: minimum 10, same-day express when eligible.
  • Custom tape: minimum 50, typically 7-10 days after proof approval.
  • Shipping: free across Australia on standard orders.
  • Artwork: complimentary proof on custom lanyards.
  • Hardware: clips, lobster claws, retractable reels and safety breakaways are selected on the product.

Cards, clips and extras

A printed plastic ID card is a separate line. Budget it if the badge has a name, photo or access level. The lanyard is only the tape and hardware.

Safety breakaways are the usual spec for public events and schools. Do not skip them to save a few cents on a credential worn by children or in a crowd.

Pick the product, set the quantity and request a proof on custom tape. For mixed staff titles this week plus a branded reprint next month, quote them as two jobs so the same-day clock and the custom clock stay honest.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no single public price list?
Unit price changes with quantity, print process and hardware. The pricing tab on each lanyard product is the current wholesale rate.
Are in-stock lanyards cheaper than custom?
They are a different product. You are buying a ready title from 10 units, not a printed logo. Custom is the right spend when the brand has to wrap the tape.
