School and fundraiser wristbands in Australia
Schools and charities usually need one of two things: a cheap colour system for a single day, or a band students keep wearing after the fundraiser. Get that split right and the rest of the order is quantity, colour and a proof.
What schools actually order
House colours, sports carnivals and excursion groups almost always use plain silicone or plain Tyvek. The colour is the system. There is no logo to approve, so you can move faster and spend less.
Formals, debutante balls and ticketed school events need a secure door band. That is Tyvek or plastic clip - the same products venues use so a ticket cannot be passed to a friend outside the gate.
Awareness weeks, SRC campaigns and charity fundraisers want a slogan people still have on in a month. That is printed, ink-filled or slap silicone, not a tear-off ticket.
A simple order matrix
Match the school job to the product before you ask for a quote.
- House or team colours: plain silicone from 50, or plain Tyvek from 100 per colour if it is a one-day gate.
- Formal / paid entry: plain or printed Tyvek. Same-day express is available on eligible plain orders before 3pm AEST.
- Fundraiser slogan: ink-filled or printed silicone. Students keep these.
- Primary giveaway: silicone slap bands if the brief is “fun to put on”. Minimum is usually 500 and they take 14–16 days.
Timing around term dates
Silicone for 100-plus bands typically needs 7–10 days in production plus transit. That is the usual trap for colour-day and walkathon orders placed in the same week as the event.
If the date is inside a week, switch the keepable merch to something you already have a design for, and put same-day Tyvek or in-stock lanyards on the door or staff. We can still proof custom artwork - we cannot compress a moulded silicone run into two days.
Artwork for students and parents
Send a house name, a one-line slogan or a school logo. Complimentary proofs go to the teacher or P&F contact by email and phone before we print. Mixed house colours with the same design do not usually add a second setup charge.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the smallest school order you will take?
- Silicone starts at 50. Plain Tyvek is 100 per colour. In-stock lanyards start at 10 if staff or prefects need credentials the same week.
- Can we put a school logo on house bands?
- Yes. Use printed or ink-filled silicone if students will wear them after the day. For a one-day carnival, plain colours are cheaper and faster.
- Do you ship to regional schools?
- Yes. Standard orders include free shipping across Australia. Tell us the event date so we can choose express where the production window is tight.
