Plastic ID cards that sit on the lanyard
Plastic cards are the badge, not the tape. Staff, visitors, artists and conference attendees wear them on a clip so a name, photo or access level can be read without checking a wrist.
Order the card with the lanyard, not instead of it. In-stock Staff, Visitor, Contractor, VIP or Security tape carries a ready word. Custom tape carries your logo. The card carries the person.
Specs and finishes
Printed plastic ID cards can take standard full colour plus hologram, gold or silver foil when the pass needs to look harder to copy. Exact size, punch and finish are selected on the product form. They clip onto the lanyard hardware you already chose.
- Job: name, photo, access level or event pass on a card.
- Finishes: standard print, hologram, gold or silver foil.
- Worn on: custom or in-stock lanyards, not as a door ticket.
- Artwork: complimentary proof on printed cards.
- Lanyard tape: order separately so lead times stay honest.
When a card is required
A workplace or conference almost always wants a card. A festival wants a card on crew and media, and a wristband at the GA gate. A school formal usually wants Tyvek at the door and only adds cards if teachers or security need a named pass.
Do not print a photographic event lockup on the card and skip the lanyard. The neck tape is what people see from a metre away. The card is what they check up close.
How to order with lanyards
Configure the lanyard first - in-stock title or custom tape - then add cards as a second line. Tell us the event date. Custom cards and custom tape share a proof loop. In-stock titles can still leave the same day if the cards are not on that clock.
The live price sits on the pricing tab. Buying advice for the tape is on the lanyard price and print-style guides.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a lanyard as well as the card?
- Yes if someone has to wear the pass. The card is the ID. The lanyard is how it hangs. Order both unless you already have hardware.
- Can plastic cards go out with same-day Staff lanyards?
- In-stock titles can express the same day when eligible. Printed cards follow their own proof and print window. Ask us if the date is tight so we do not bundle them into one dishonest clock.
- Should guests get a card or a wristband?
- A card if they need a name or access level. A wristband if the door only needs to know who paid. Many events order both.
